Tenants to Watch in the week of Jan 4th

Scenthound

Preferred Sq. Footage: 1,000-2,000 s.f.

Anticipated 12-Month Openings: 10-40+

The Florida-based pet grooming company is poised for rapid growth. Scenthound recently opened its fifth location in Boca Raton, Fla., and has an additional 27 units under development throughout Florida, Georgia, Nevada and North Carolina. The company expects to have 40 franchises sold by the end of 2020 and another 100 units sold, primarily to multi-unit operators, by the end of 2021. The company also brought in a new VP of franchise development with past franchise experience at Blink Fitness. The brand targets grocery-anchored and shopping center sites.

Mayweather Boxing & Fitness

Preferred Sq. Footage: 2,000-3,500 s.f.

Anticipated 12-Month Openings: 19-20

The gym is poised for growth with new franchised units expected in Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Raleigh, N.C., San Francisco, Oakland and Santa Monica, Calif. Also, look for a few locations throughout Florida and New Jersey. The brand seeks to integrate the latest technology including virtual reality where members can train with the company’s famous namesake, a virtual Floyd Mayweather. Freestanding pad and lifestyle center locations are desired.

Hounds Town

Preferred Sq. Footage: 4,000-6,000 s.f.

Anticipated 12-Month Openings: 15-20 (over two years)

The New York-based pet boarding/daycare/grooming franchise looks to add new units in Maryland, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and central Florida. Freestanding pad and nontraditional sites will be targeted. Suburban markets with a large population of young working families will be sought after.

Quick Mobile Repair

Preferred Sq. Footage: 1,500-1,800 s.f.

Anticipated 12-Month Openings: 5-8

The Arizona-based cell phone repair brand hopes to add five to eight new units per year over the next two years. In addition to existing units in Arizona and Utah, the company eyes locations in the South, as well as Nevada, Idaho and Oregon. Shopping center and regional mall sites are targeted and locations near intersections on busy retail streets will be desired.

Cardsmart

Preferred Sq. Footage: 1,800-2,000 s.f.

Anticipated 12-Month Openings: 1+

The New Jersey-based national discount, card and gift shop chain will open a new unit in Clinton, N.J., replacing a Hallmark Shop. The 97-unit chain sets itself apart with its “50% off Every Card Every Day” offer. Downtown, regional mall, street-front and grocery-anchored sites are sought after.
