Burlington signed a long-term NNN lease for a space in the Stratford Crossing regional power center in Bloomingdale, a suburb community located 20 miles northwest of Downtown Chicago. This is a relocation for Burlington from another property in Bloomingdale; the brand preferred Stratford Crossing as it has more customer traffic, better co-tenants and increased exposure with great signage and a newer building than its previous location. The center receives close to 50,000 daily cars. Within three miles the population is 103,000 people, and the average household income is approximately $110K/year.
Tenant: Burlington
Location: Bloomingdale, Ill.
Square Footage: 27,726 s.f.
Owner/Developer: NewMark Merrill Companies, Inc.
Property Type: Regional Power Center
The space takes up a section of what was formerly a Kmart, which closed due to bankruptcy in 2019. Part of the remaining Kmart portion is occupied by a T.J. Maxx and a HomeGoods, which both also relocated from another site in Bloomingdale and opened units last year that occupy about 25,000 s.f. each. The shopping center houses other high-traffic tenants, such as PetSmart, Hobby Lobby, Planet Fitness, Golden Corral Buffet & Grill, Party City, Shoe Carnival and Mariano’s, an Illinois-based grocery store. Burlington is expected to open by Q4 of this year.
