CycleBar, the premium indoor cycling fitness franchise, signed a lease for a unit in Bell Tower, an upscale open-air lifestyle shopping center. The fitness studio expects to be open by late summer. CycleBar is completely redesigning the space to meet its unique requirements, as its studio will provide music and entertainment from a state-of-the-art sound and video theater for its cycling classes. The unit will be near Bath & Body Works, Fleet Feet and the Burntwood Tavern restaurant and bar. The lease deal went smoothly as Madison Marquette, which owns and operates Bell Tower, has a strong relationship with CycleBar since there are two other CycleBar locations in its portfolio of Florida-based shopping centers — one at CityPlace Doral near Miami and one at Mercato in Naples.

Square Footage: 2,850 s.f.
Property Type: Upscale Lifestyle Shopping Center

The space was attractive to CycleBar because Bell Tower is located at the busiest retail intersection in Fort Myers’ Lee County, where Daniels Parkway and U.S. Highway 41 intersect. The cycling franchise also appreciated that the lifestyle center has many experiential tenants, such as Dave & Buster’s and Regal Cinemas, a category CycleBar fits into in addition to the fitness realm. CycleBar also liked that Bell Tower attracts day-to-night customers with its restaurants, as well as its popular high-traffic tenants, including The Fresh Market and ULTA Beauty. Bell Tower was an especially good fit for the high-end cycling brand, as the mall completed a $9M renovation two years ago, and now features updated architecture with redesigned storefronts and remodeled landscaping with improved walking paths.
