Full Metal Burgers, a heavy metal music-themed burger venue with two locations in northern San Diego, signed an NNN lease to open in a ground-floor space within an 11-story, 397-unit mixed-use luxury apartment building that is still under construction. The building, called Mica RiNo, is in Denver’s River North Art District, a former industrial warehouse section of the city that continues to undergo revitalization and now features bars, restaurants and art galleries. The restaurant expects to open by the fall.

The Full Metal Burgers founders, who were already longtime admirers of Denver’s food, beer and music scene, were concerned about finding a space that would not only be a good fit for their unique brand, but would also allow them the freedom to tweak the space into an old-school, heavy metal-themed style. The team at Hines was open to realizing their vision. The unit will be next door to TRVE Brewing Co., another heavy metal-themed dining establishment. The space is also across the street from a live music venue, called The Mission Ballroom, and is walking distance to a light rail station that is one stop away from the city’s central business district.
