FiiZ Drinks, Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks and other new food tenants to watch

FiiZ Drinks

FiiZ Drinks continues to eye franchise expansion into new regions within the Northwest, Midwest and South. Standalone drive-thru units, end caps or inline spaces in grocery-anchored centers, strip centers or power centers will be considered. FiiZ Drinks is known for its customizable beverages that can combine soft drinks, smoothies, frozen whips, energy drinks, Italian sodas, pureed fruits, juice or ice cream.

Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks

12-Month Anticipated Openings: ~50

The Georgia-based cheesesteak concept began embarking on franchise growth in late 2023 and has a goal of opening 100 units by late 2025. Look for immediate expansion to take place in Central Florida and Charlotte, N.C., followed by all major metros. Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks will consider retail street-front sites, neighborhood shopping center units and power center spaces.

Bang Cookies

This New Jersey-based cookie company recently signed with Oakscale Franchise Development to expand across the country. Bang Cookies looks for space in retail street-front sites and shopping-center food courts. The chunky, oversized cookies are renowned for their organic, all-natural ingredients.

12-Month Anticipated Openings: 10-15

The dirty soda and snack drive-thru concept seeks space in standalone pad sites and end caps in suburban communities. Spaces within new development projects in areas with a growing population are especially sought after. Upcoming expansion will take place in South Carolina, Texas, Nevada, Arizona and Utah.

Effin Egg

12-Month Anticipated Openings: 8-10

This breakfast eatery continues to expand in all areas of the country. Upcoming franchise growth will take place in Memphis, Tenn., Phoenix and Detroit. Standalone pad sites for drive thrus and retail street-front sites are both preferred. The fast-casual restaurant, which also offers grab-and-go services, is known for its classic breakfast items with a twist.

JoJo’s Shake BAR

12-Month Anticipated Openings: 3-7

This dessert-oriented restaurant concept expects to continue expansion into major metros with a strong tourist element. The chain especially seeks retail street-front sites. JoJo’s is known for its elaborate desserts, such as gourmet shakes that can be served with alcohol, along with a choice of toppings. The restaurant features a retro 1980s/1990s interior vibe.

Venchi

12-Month Anticipated Openings: 5-6

Venchi, a renowned Italian chocolatier that has been in operation for 140 years, is now focused on opening units in higher-end retail street-front sites and regional malls. Upcoming shops are expected in San Diego, New York City, Long Island, N.Y., Boca Raton, Fla., and the suburbs of Miami. In addition to its artisanal chocolates and gift sets, Venchi also serves gourmet gelato.
