Owner CriticalPoint Capital expands the brand via acquisitions of other retail stores such as Olympia Sports, Rhythm Running and Rogue Running.

The Michigan-based men’s apparel brand expects to add new units in major metros in the South, including Texas, Georgia and the Carolinas, as well as throughout the West Coast, including Northern California, Oregon and Washington. Upscale urban mixed-use storefronts, lifestyle centers and premier indoor and outdoor shopping malls sites are targeted. Watch for the retailer to open pop-up shops in potential new communities before agreeing to open permanent stores.

New York City-based Studs plans to expand its earring retail store and ear-piercing studio concept over the next three years after receiving $3M in funding from investors. All types of retail space, such as pop-up sites, urban street-front spaces and premium malls near large universities and tourist areas will be targeted. The concept relies on professionals performing piercings with a needle versus a piercing gun.
Psycho Bunny

The men’s retailer opened a unit in Santa Clara, Calif., this fall, following recent new stores added in Austin, Texas, and Riverhead, N.Y. Psycho Bunny also recently opened its first Texas pop-up at NorthPark Center in Dallas. The company has its eye on potential new sites in Southern California, the Carolinas, Chicago and Scottsdale, Ariz. Premiere shopping mall space with luxury-branded co-tenants within both upscale metropolitan and suburban locations are desired.
