Uncle Sharkii Poke Bar

Preferred Sq. Footage: 400-600 s.f.

12-Month Anticipated Openings: 1-5

The quick-service poke chain will add five new units in Utah thanks to a multiunit franchise deal in the state. The first location opened in the City Creek Center mixed-use development in Salt Lake City last month. Units are also in the works for Orem, Park City, South Jordan and the Salt Lake City International Airport. Also, look for new restaurants in Northern and Southern California, as well as Hawaii. The chain did well during the pandemic adding 12 new locations and is seeking additional franchisees. Keep an eye out for the ink to dry on its first master franchise deal this year. Regional mall sites and non-traditional units will be targeted.

Franny’s Farmacy

Preferred Sq. Footage: 400-1,500 s.f.

12-Month Anticipated Openings: 10

The CBD store plans 10 new units during 2021 and between 15 and 25 units per year from 2022 onwards. Southeast metro markets, along with select Southwest and Midwest cities will be targeted. A smaller 400- to 500-s.f. unit works well in high-density areas. Inline units in downtown, street-front, lifestyle, regional mall and grocery-anchored centers will be desired. Franny’s Farmacy sets itself apart from the competition by using hemp from locally grown farm sources.

Brooklyn Dumpling Shop

Preferred Sq. Footage: 500-1,000 s.f.

12-Month Anticipated Openings: 50-70

(over three years)

The 24-hour locker food pickup concept plans rapid national expansion with the help of a recent partnership with Fransmart. New units are coming to the Northeast over the next few years including mall locations. The chain is an offshoot of the full-service Brooklyn Chop House restaurant and the automat configuration franchise concept can include a window to view the dumpling making automated machine. Customers order using their phones or touchless kiosks and receive a text when their order is ready. Downtown, street-front, shopping center, power center, mall, food court, regional mall, non-traditional units and grocery-anchored center sites will be targeted.

Your CBD Store

Preferred Sq. Footage: 750-2,000 s.f.

12-Month Anticipated Openings: 150-200

(over two to three years)

The CBD chain plans rapid expansion with eyes on the West including Northern California, Washington and Oregon, along with the Midwest such as in Minnesota, Kansas and Michigan. Northeast cities in Maryland, Delaware and Rhode Island could also see new units. The chain seeks both suburban and metro regional mall and grocery-anchored sites. The stores feature spalike interiors and the chain sells their own organically-grown hemp products for humans and pets.

Rhone

Preferred Sq. Footage: 1,000-1,500 s.f.

12-Month Anticipated Openings: TBD

The athleisure clothing brand, which recently opened its fifth location in Boston, plans expansion throughout the Northeast and Midwest, including a possible store in Chicago. The chain has an existing warehouse in Utah, so expansion into Western states could also be in the cards. Rhone already has brand recognition due to its products being sold in Equinox gyms, Peloton Studios and JackRabbit shoe stores. Regional mall and street-front sites near office buildings, multifamily developments and gyms will be targeted.
