The Southern California-based Cookie Co. has a goal of signing 125 new franchise locations by the end of 2023 and expects new units in Texas, Utah, New Jersey and New York. Look for California, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho and Midwest markets to also be targeted. Cookie Co. prefers family friendly suburban power center spaces and just opened its first end cap drive-thru site. Cookie Co. is famous for its gourmet cookies made with healthy ingredients.
H&H Bagels

H&H Bagels, known for authentic New York-style bagels, is expanding outside of its home base in NYC and will be opening both company-owned and franchised stores along the East Coast, including Connecticut, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Florida. Chicago and Los Angeles will also get new units. Expect the top 50 metros to be targeted. H&H is branching out of its usual retail street-front sites, and will also consider units in power centers, lifestyle centers and grocery-anchored centers.

The Washington, D.C.-based healthy fast-casual café is expanding in 2024, including in new markets such as Omaha, Neb., Atlanta, Charlotte, N.C., Nashville, Tenn., and Las Vegas. Toastique prefers retail street-front sites and lifestyle centers with strong foot traffic. The franchise chain serves elevated toast creations, acai bowls, smoothies and juices.
Café 86

This Filipino-inspired cafe just finalized its franchise capabilities this year, and signed franchisees to open new units in California, such as Roseville, Simi Valley, Elk Grove, Burbank, Alhambra and Thousand Oaks, in addition to a new unit in Chandler, Ariz. Café 86 seeks inline or end cap spaces in strip malls and grocery-anchored centers in areas with a large Asian/Filipino population. The eatery sells ube-flavored items such as milk teas, lattes, shakes and pastries.
