Why they’re worth watching:
The indoor golf, entertainment center and sports bar chain has plans for rapid expansion with units in the works for Utah, New York, Illinois, St. Louis, Mo., Kansas City, Mo., and Chicago. A new unit just opened in Omaha, Neb., last month. Lifestyle center and entertainment center sites are targeted. In addition to golf simulators, locations feature a full-service bar and food options.

Why they’re worth watching:
The dart throwing/restaurant/bar entertainment concept will add up to five new units per year over the next two to three years. New units are coming to Las Vegas and Atlanta by the summer. Future locations could also come to Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, Tennessee and the Washington, D.C., MSA. Downtown, street-front, lifestyle center and entertainment center sites will be sought after. The chain utilizes computer and camera technology to tabulate scoring when the dart hits the scoreboard and offers a variety of food and drinks.

Why they’re worth watching:
The kid-friendly climbing gym will add its fifth location in West Nyack, N.Y., and ultimately plans to add four more units over the next three years. ClimbZones could be coming to Dallas and Philadelphia, as well as major metros in Florida and California. Regional mall and entertainment center sites are targeted. The chain features 75 custom-designed walls and was brought to the U.S. from New Zealand.

Why they’re worth watching:
The large venue entertainment concept will add its second unit in Orlando, Fla., with eyes on other tourist-heavy markets with nighttime traffic for future growth. The Orlando site will be on 17 acres and will feature more than 150,000 s.f. of retail space. The concept has a rotating mix of multiple sensory activation experiences, live music, art installations, retail and dining.
