Fogo de Chão signed an NNN lease for its first restaurant in the state of New Jersey, which will be a 7,648-s.f. space in the upscale Westfield Garden State Plaza indoor shopping mall in Paramus. The deal came to fruition before the pandemic hit, and everyone involved worked diligently to push it to completion. The restaurant is expected to be open by mid 2022.

The two-level space formerly housed a Bar Louie restaurant/bar, and offers an exterior and an interior mall entrance, as well as patio space both inside and outside of the mall. The restaurant will be opening at the same time as two other high-end dining establishments in the mall: Seasons 52 and Eddie V’s Prime Seafood Restaurant, which are also set to open by mid 2022.
Westfield Garden State Plaza was attractive to Fogo de Chão as it is well trafficked with consistently strong sales. In addition, the mall will be embarking on a major development project in 2022 that will create a town square feel with three acres of green space, as well as the development of luxury apartments, offices and an upscale hotel.
Westfield Garden State Plaza houses luxury tenants such as Gucci, Versace, Neiman Marcus and Tiffany & Co., and is located about eight miles west of Upper Manhattan in Paramus, a borough of Bergen County where the average household income is $153 million. The Brazilian steakhouse specializes in serving high-quality, fire-roasted meats and is expected to be an excellent fit for the mall and its demographics.
