A full 10-year NNN lease was signed for Palmetto Moon to occupy a space that previously housed a rue21. The unit is in a 600,000-s.f. power center, called Canton Marketplace, which is about 35 miles north of Atlanta. The store is expected to open in March. Palmetto Moon agreed to handle all construction costs, and the retailer will completely remodel the space to reflect its latest prototype, a more modernized concept that can easily display an expanded collection of Southern-based apparel labels and gifts.
Tenant: Palmetto Moon
Location: Canton, Ga.
Square Footage: 6,131 s.f.
Developer/Owner: Acadia Realty Trust
Property Type: Power Center
Initial Term: 10 Years
The team behind Palmetto Moon, a brand that is particularly selective about its site selection, was interested in the Canton Marketplace because it is the dominant shopping center in a 15-mile radius, and it caters to the entire Canton region, as well as the growing surrounding markets. The inline space has a Five Below and an Off Broadway Shoes on either side of it and is located in the busiest wing of the shopping center, with tenants such as T.J. Maxx, Ulta Beauty and Dick’s Sporting Goods. The shopping center also houses other nationally known retailers such as Super Target, Kohl’s, Lowe’s, Best Buy, PetSmart, Buff City Soap and pOpshelf. This will be the ninth Palmetto Moon in Georgia. Even though Palmetto Moon also has a store in nearby Woodstock — located about 10 miles away — the high amount of traffic that Canton Marketplace generates justified opening another unit.
