Sky Zone, Paradox Museum and other new buzz-worthy tenants to watch

Sky Zone

12-Month Anticipated Openings: 20

This indoor trampoline venue, which also offers zip lines, dodgeball courts, ninja courses, slides and a snack bar, will continue its Westward expansion by targeting Utah, Texas, Colorado and California. Also, watch for Chicago, Lima, Ohio, Mountlake Terrace, Wash., Gambrills, Md., Rutherford, N.J., South Florida and Central Georgia to all see new units over the next year. Sky Zone seeks space in suburban neighborhood power centers, strip malls and industrial warehouse sites near residential communities.

Twisted Sugar
Preferred Sq. Footage: 800-1,500 s.f.
12-Month Anticipated Openings: 10-13

This cookie shop brand, which fulfilled franchisee sign-ups in both Utah and Arizona, will have continued growth into Indiana, the Carolinas, Texas, Washington, Idaho, Georgia, Florida, Oklahoma, Missouri, Colorado and Kansas. Anticipate more Southern markets to be eyed, such Kentucky and Tennessee. Twisted Sugar seeks inline sites or end caps for its drive-thru units in strip malls, standalone retail buildings or retail-street front spaces, preferably near a college.

Etam
Preferred Sq. Footage: 3,000-3,500 s.f.
12-Month Anticipated Openings: 5-10

This French lingerie retailer, which already has a strong presence in 55+ countries, opened its first U.S. store in Miami this summer, and by early next year will expand into two more East Coast locations. By late 2024/early 2025, Etam hopes to have up to 10 locations, and is rumored to be eyeing the metros in Texas, California, Scottsdale, Ariz., and New York City. Etam prefers retail street-front locations or upscale shopping centers, including regional malls.

Veronica Beard

12-Month Anticipated Openings: 5-10

This sophisticated-yet-relaxed women’s clothing brand is on a quest to open new units throughout all areas of the U.S. where its customers are, including resort-oriented destinations, such as its Napa Valley, Calif., store that opened in August. Untapped areas rumored for possible expansion include San Diego, Santa Barbara, Calif., Northern Virginia and Bellevue, Wash. Veronica Beard prefers retail street-front sites, upscale open-air malls and lifestyle centers.

Paradox Museum

12-Month Anticipated Openings: 3-6

The optical illusion-oriented Paradox Museum, with three U.S. locations, may have been tip-toeing its growth since opening its first unit in the states in late 2022, but the brand has indicated interest in expanding into Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, New York City, Los Angeles and Denver. Tourist-heavy retail street-front sites and family friendly entertainment-oriented shopping malls are desired.

Patel Brothers

12-Month Anticipated Openings: 3-5

This Indian-focused grocer, with a strong presence in the Northeast, has been steadily expanding to the South and the West. New units will soon open in Florida, Georgia and Michigan. Potential growth may take place in communities that have experienced a huge influx of the Indian population, including Orange County, Calif., San Diego and Seattle. Patel Brothers seeks sites in strip centers, neighborhood centers and standalone retail street-front buildings.
